Alexandre Lacazette out with ankle injury until October
Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has been ruled out before October.
The team revealed the news on their website and also confirmed the France international had been playing with the issue for the last few weeks but now needs to”break and strengthen his toe to recover whole fitness.”
Lacazette has already scored two goals in three matches this season, including the Gunners’ target since they came to draw 2-2 at home to Tottenham in the north London derby prior to the international break.
The 28-year-old will miss Sunday’s trip to Watford – live on Sky Sports – and their off game with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday.
He is also expected to miss the Premier League matches against Manchester United and Aston Villa, in Addition to Nottingham Forest’s trip from the Carabao Cup into the Emirates.
Arsenal head coach Unai Emery did have a few positive injury news ahead of the game with Watford, nevertheless, as he affirmed Kieran Tierney and defenders Hector Bellerin are close to a return to activity.
